Social customs are getting toxic and people think they should be retired.
As a society, we have some social customs and a lot of them we have adopted with time. We tend to follow certain patterns of behavior that literally make no sense. Social customs are fine as long as people do not have any issues with them. But some of these customs are problematic and people think we should abandon them for the good. This world is already going through a lot and these social customs add more negativity to this world. It is important that we recognize which social customs are healthy and which ones need to be retired.
Whenever it comes to an idea or point of view, people don’t seem to have a constructive talk or come to a conclusion. But if someone nicely offers you a mic for a healthy debate, would you like giving your opinion? We would definitely be ready to talk about it to bring a positive change in this world. A Twitter user asked “what social customs do we need to retire?” and Twitter users found it really interesting to participate in. We have collected everyone’s response to this question and we would like you to read the customs people think should be retired in order to make this world a better place to live. We are sure you would agree to all of these, so scroll down!

Why do we as a society surround around clothes? Why have we associated gender with clothing? We feel clothing does not have any gender. The fashion industry has created these terms i.e women’s clothing, men’s clothing, to increase their sales and we have sadly normalized these terms. These social customs have been so inculcated in our personalities that when we see someone dressing differently, we get offended. We pass comments, judge them and whatnot.
Discrimination at the workplace, suppressing emotions, body shaming, periods shaming, shaming single mothers, judging people on the basis of their looks, their body weight, their tattoos, dressing and their personal choices, etc., we have adopted these social customs and normalizing them by not talking about them. This needs to be stopped and looks like we are one step ahead in our mission.
