Woman Thinks She’s Wrong For Not Stopping Brother From Leaving After Her Dog Made His Kid Fall

Taking care of a dog is a difficult task.

While I am not claiming that dogs cannot be independent or that they must be constantly cared for. However, animals must be trained, especially if your household includes a child. As we all know, children are generally dumb, which means they will grab whatever they can, even if it is the fur of the large husky who is always nearby. Most dogs will not react aggressively, but it is possible, which is why it is the adult’s responsibility to ensure that both the animal and the child are completely safe when interacting with each other. Even a minor accident can cause significant harm to either of them.

So I can understand why many parents do not get pets after having children. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve seen plenty of animals who fit in with a family and will also take care of the child and be generally caring, but this is not always the case. Even if they are trying to be caring, the child may be harmed and the dog will be blamed. One such occurrence is the subject of today’s story. It’s not as dramatic or as bad as you might imagine. However, it did result in a large fight between the adults, which is never a pleasant sight.

This seems like a simple story at first but more is going on underneath than the initial impression.

She clearly felt bad and that is the reason she is on Reddit asking the world for advice and whether she should have intervened.

To be honest, I’m not sure what to think. It’s not like the child was hurt, and kids fall down all the time, so I’m not sure why he’s being so protective. At the same time, because I am not a parent, I cannot even begin to imagine how a parent feels about their child. And I believe the sister’s partner should have de-escalated the situation rather than becoming even more enraged about it. Although I believe that if she had intervened, things would have gotten worse because they both expected her to take their side, which is never a good option.

Commenters had a lot to say about the situation as well.

Even people who don’t like pets were by her side and insisted that she did nothing wrong.

As this person eloquently puts it, it wasn’t her fight so she did well by staying out of it.

It wasn’t as if she made him feel like he was unwelcome so it is his own fault.

This is excellent advice but both families need to be open to learning.

And nobody needs the extra stress these days.

Kids fall all the time, that is just how they are. Nothing special.
