The motivation behind OP’s departure was a simple request for accommodation. Their abusive ex would lurk in the restaurant’s lobby every day, waiting to inflict emotional torment. To avoid this ordeal, OP would arrive in an Uber, evading their ex’s intense glares throughout their shift. The harassment continued outside, where their ex would persistently follow, threatening and even vandalizing their property. Desperate for respite, OP pleaded with their employer for a month, asking for permission to leave through an alternative exit, only to be met with dismissive responses and accusations of overreacting. The relentless fear of their ex escalating to violence pushed OP to the breaking point, and they issued an ultimatum to their supervisor, Mary. However, instead of understanding, Mary laughed in their face, revealing a callous disregard for OP’s well-being.
