Love is blind.
Love has no bounds, neither does imagine. What happens when the two collide? I think you can guess it. Endless realities form. They don’t have to exist in real life to be realities. Ask an artist, I think they would better explain it to you. An artist’s biggest achievement isn’t to finish a project. I mean, don’t get me wrong, it absolutely is, given how hard they work on it. But the main joy that gives them satisfaction after all the blood, sweat, and tears is the fact that they had this idea in their brain, and imagination and they successfully managed to put it out there in the world. It’s not easy, trust me.
Today we are going to cherish the work of this amazing and extremely hardworking comic artist, Julia Loopstra, who lets her imagination guide her work. The 25-year-old artist from California decided to fascinate the whole world and the beings living on it with her new project called Vampire Boyfriend. Vampire Boyfriend is a very skillful comic about a romantic relationship between a woman named Peg and her vampire boyfriend, Neculai. You already know it’s going to be twisted. But Loopstra uses her creativity and mind-blowing imagination to make the comic both joyous and hilarious at the same time. Along with the hilarity, she also creates very heart-touching moments. You could call her an all-rounder. Loopstra says that a major part of her inspiration comes from classic children’s books. She mentioned Edward Gorey’s and Quentin Black’s work as her main source of motivation.

1. A sweet vampire? Well, that is new.
From what I have heard and read in my childhood and portion of adulthood, vampires are definitely not accustomed to caring for others. Seems like Julia’s world is going to be really interesting.

When you’re in love, nothing seems impossible. Especially when you are a vampire and have supernatural powers. What a lad!

A little bit of sunlight has hurt no one unless you are a vampire who literally disintegrates as a ray of sunlight hits your skin. Given that, the vampire still made it to the beach. I rate that commitment!

It seems like something is building between Neculai and Peg. And it feels kinda cute.I am sure the two have started to feel some tingles in the tummy.

Imagine taking Draguta out for a walk and some random pedestrian asks to pet the cat and asks its name. That would be a fun sight to watch them hearing “Draguta” and running as fast as they can in the opposite direction. I would.

This also shows love and care are not all about expensive and fancy stuff. Inner value matters the most. Damn, who am I? A love guru?

It’s not the object, its the intention behind it. So strong that it is slowly melting a vampire. (Not literally)

Man’s lived so many lives yet for some reason I feel this one with Peg is his favorite.
You know when you set an expectation for something and then it exceeds that expectation? I think that’s what happened here with this amazing comic from Julia. I am loving this so much. It really is very twisted. But it’s got everything. Hilariousness, dumbness, romance, touching moments. Wow, a complete package. Can’t wait to read more.

I really don’t like massive spots. Like honestly, imagine mister vampire over here deciding to take a shower in a bathroom which is a 10-minute-walk away. And as soon as you are about to take off that robe, the doorbell rings. Mind you, the main gate is approximately 5 kilometers away. Meaningless life!

One thing that always comes in is the sense of competitiveness and jealousy whenever two best friends and their boyfriends meet. Very natural. Women would do everything in their power to prove theirs is better.

I am a fan of Julia’s work. I think I am going to go read all her projects after this. The way this comic was formed felt so creative. Nothing is a success if it can’t keep you invested in till the very last moment. And I think “Vampire Boyfriend” was beyond a success. I really hope Neculai and Peg get married and live a happy life together.
