Thanksgiving is a festival that is celebrated all around the world. It is an event where families get together over a delicious dinner to celebrate what they have and pay gratitude for everything. A very nice festival many await all year long. Usually, multiple families, in the grand family, take turns to host the Thanksgiving dinner.
In today’s story, we have Reddit user u/doaleapa shared that she along with her husband and kids would always attend the family Thanksgiving dinners as guests and had never hosted one. However, for the next one it was agreed they would host the dinner. The husband assumed OP would take care of everything while OP thought she would be getting some help from someone in the family to host the event as she had never done anything like this before.
With Thanksgiving just around the corner, when the husband asked OP if she had purchased Turkey, she said she didn’t buy any and was expecting him to get it. The couple erupted in a fight from there on with the husband blaming OP for not making any plans and the wife responding by asking why was she expected to do it all by herself.

5. OP said she didn’t plan anything because no one offered to help. Her husband got really angry and went off on her.
6. OP countered by saying she had never planned or hosted a Thanksgiving dinner ever before and everyone knew about this so why did no one help? Everything is now being put on her at the last minute.

8. The husband tried his best to guilt-trip OP for not making any preparations for Thanksgiving by involving their kids’ feelings among other things.
Unfair alert! OP’s husband knew his wife had never cooked a Thanksgiving dinner nor had they ever hosted the event. The whole family, surely, knew this as well because this family would always show up at Thanksgiving as guests. So, OP needed a hand or multiple hands, there is no question about it. Leaving it all on OP assuming she has to do it is entirely unfair to her. If her husband cared so much about the festival, he should’ve helped his wife host the event.

10. The husband came to cursing OP as he slept in the office that night. The kids told their mom they didn’t care about Thanksgiving at all.
