Mother Who Had A Strained Relationship With Her Daughter Never Got To See Her Grandchild

Maintaining relationships is not an easy job. We do say some relations are pre-made like that between a mother and a daughter. It is assumed such relationships never take a hit as compared to the ones we create like that between a husband and a wife, or a woman and her in-laws, etc. Unfortunately, this is a wrong assumption. All relationships can take hits, all hits. It will always depend on how you treat the relationship. The creator of Titanic built it with high confidence in his heart that his ship would never sink and look what happened on its first voyage.

In today’s story, we walk on a similar platform as a mother shares how strained her relationship was with her daughter until the daughter finally decided to cut all ties. OP blamed this all on her daughter’s behavior, her bad habits, and terrible life choices. The mom and daughter would always erupt into fights because of the daughter’s behavior. The two had so many heated fights that things got to the point of no contact.

That was until the daughter became a mother which created an urge in OP to meet her grandchild. But the daughter had made it very clear to OP that she did not want her to be a part of her life.

The grandmother, so desperate, wanted to enforce grandparent rights to meet the little and this made her share the matter on the internet to ask if she really could explore this option.

I think the grandmother would be very wrong to do so. Her daughter made it very clear that she has accepted a life that does not involve her mother. I think this decision should be fully honored. OP initially blamed the strained relationship on her daughter, her behavior to be precise. If that is the case, then nothing allows her to be a part of that strained relationship again. OP already made her decision. The decision is now in her daughter’s hands.
