In this tale of heartbreak and co-parenting struggles, OP, a 42-year-old woman, recounts the dissolution of her 20-year marriage with her ex-husband, now 45. The divorce, triggered by his infidelity, left her devastated as he quickly moved on to a relationship with the other woman, leading to their engagement and impending wedding. Despite the emotional turmoil, OP is committed to preserving her daughter Joceline’s relationship with her father, even though the bitter past still haunts her. Struggling with the prospect of her ex-husband’s wedding, she agrees to let Joceline attend but insists he handles the logistics, avoiding the emotional weight of participating in the celebration.
As the wedding day approaches, the ex-husband requests a favor, seeking help with transporting Joceline since he needs to pick up his future in-laws. Unable to bear the thought of being involved in the wedding preparations, OP declines the request, causing a rift between her and her daughter. The refusal leads to accusations of hindering the father-daughter bond, leaving OP torn between her emotional distress and the desire to shield Joceline from the truth about the divorce. The situation takes a more complicated turn as the ex-husband’s family condemns her, branding her as heartless for not accommodating his request.
So keep on scrolling down below to read the whole story narrated by OP and make sure to read it till the end otherwise, you won’t be able to figure out who’s the A-hole here.
1. OP and her ex-husband were together for 20 years and they have a beautiful daughter named Joceline, they got divorced 5 years ago because the husband committed infidelity and the saddest part is he got engaged with the same lady a year later and they are about to be married in two weeks.

2. OP says she’s still heartbroken over the divorce however, OP says Joceline was only 9 years old when the divorce happened and he’s a great father to Joceline and OP doesn’t ever wanna come between their bond moreover, OP told the users that his fiance also loves her.

3. OP came to terms with him but the condition was that transportation would be available for Joceline to and from the wedding as OP didn’t want to be a part of it by dropping her daughter off

4. He called OP and asked if she could drop Joceline off at the wedding as his future in-laws are flying in the morning ng of the wedding he has to go pick them up but OP declined

5. OP told him that there would be no way that she would take her daughter to the wedding and only he would have to figure it out

6. And when Joceline heard OP having this conversation with him she ran downstairs crying, calling OP terrible and accusing her of not wanting her to spend time with her dad. OP tried to explain to her and said it was not the case she was thinking but she demanded to know why OP couldn’t take her to the wedding

7. Now OP wants to know whether she’s an A-hole

8. This user is absolutely right she deserves to know otherwise, OP would be the bad guy in her book.

9. NTA

10. Exactly, he could have been there to pick her up he’s just trying not to do it.

11. At least OP could make her understand her side of the story as to why she doesn’t wanna go

12. Maybe OP should consider this!

13. It’s a solid point, right? If they are so upset why can’t any of them pick her up?

14. He’s just not trying to make any effort period

15. OP should tell her daughter now as she has reached the point where she’s gonna be a bad guy unless she tells Joceline

16. She needs to know and now she’s old enough to understand

17. She deserves to know
