In this family story, the close bond between two sisters faced an unexpected test when one of them, married with three children, assumed responsibility for her sister’s son. Initially, the plan was for the nephew to stay for a short period until his mother, the sister, returned from an opportunity to work in Canada. However, as the years passed, the sister showed little effort to make arrangements for her son, even as the family faced challenges such as the passing of their mother. The tension escalated when the sister, aware of the impending move to America, seemingly cut off communication and left her son in the care of her sister.

As the day approached for the family to move to America, the sister, blocked on all channels of communication, suddenly reappeared, expressing anger and frustration at the decision to involve her estranged husband in taking custody of their child.

1. OP says that she and her sister have always been close and they did everything together, OP is married and has three kids while her sister has only one. In 2020 OP’s sister got the opportunity to work in Canada so she asked if her son could live with her. He was one year old at that time.

3. In April OP lost her mother so her sister called to check up on all of them, and OP made a plan that they would move to America right after her second oldest finishes IGCSEs

OP and her husband stayed at home with his nephew and during those weeks while their kids were in the Phillippines she told her that in a few weeks, they would be moving OP called and texted her loads of times but she blocked her so OP decided to contact her husband and explain everything to him and he decided to take him in.
5. When her sister got to know this she called OP and started shouting at the top of her lungs and said how selfish and wicked OP was and how could she give her kid to her husband, so OP turned off her phone and took her kids and headed straight to the airport.
6. OP gave some clarification to the users about her sister’s marriage in which she said her sister was a red flag in the relationship because she would cuss him a lot and even throw stuff at him when they would be in a fight and always threatened him for divorce
7. And when she got to know that the divorce process was expensive she decided to take it slow moreover, OP said that she did not want her child to be near him and tried everything in her power to get full custody.
8. OP told the users that she tried getting him a passport but they needed his real parents or at least a legal guardian to do it, and OP explained to those who said she didn’t love her nephew that she loves him and treats him like he his her kid.
