Woman Refuses To Make Coffee The Way Her Controlling Fiancé Wanted Her To Make It

People don’t really like being bossed around these days, even if the boss is your fiance.

Times have changed. The world has been engulfed by liberalism and awareness about human rights. People don’t like being bossed around just because someone thing they have that power to do so. Peope realize their worth and they like backing the decisions they make instead of having those decisions easily influenced by someone else. No, this is not called “being a person with a rock in place of a heart”. This is called being confident, robust, and aware of your self-respect. We are going to link this phenomenon with coffee. It will make sense in a moment. There are so many different type of coffee in the world and everyone has their own liking and disliking. Some likes a classic cappuccino while the other might absolutely hate it. One may love a latte and vice versa. And so on. The thing is, no one is allowed to tell someone to stop drinking their coffee of choice and start drinking my coffee of choice. That’s just not how things work. You like your thing, you drink it. I like mine, so stay within your lines and let me enjoy what I have been enjoying all my life. At times people say “oh, you drink that one? Well, the one I drink has health benefits”, this is something that needs to stop. You need to hold your know it all ass.

Today’s reddit story touches on this exact matter. OP shared a story almost a year ago about how her fiance didn’t like the way she drank her coffee. He wanted her to drink the coffee he likes. And the came back an entire year later to update us on the matter and the story basically blew up and caught our eye. So we are bringing it straight to you guys. The matter was posted on the infamous subreddit “Am I The A**hole” so get your voting IDs out because it is time to decide whether OP was an AH or NTA.

Scroll down below to read what happened.

1. Coffee is a serious topic man. It’s not easy to give on that taste that had been nourishing your brain for so long. Or at least that’s what we like to think what coffee does.

2. So it seems like OP’s fiance is a coffee freak and is very specific about how his coffee should be made.

3. Wow! I feel like the fiance has dreams about being the best barista in the world.

4. This woman is polar opposite to her fiance when it comes to making coffee. She makes coffee the way almost all of us do. So, does that make the fiance abnormal in this situation?

6. Of course your fiance was going to get made at you for disrespect the divine process of making coffee.

7. I think someone who is so particular about their coffee would be bothered if things are not done accordingly. But, this is a bit too much if you ask me.

8. That would frustrate anyone. You can make your coffee the way you want but cannot impose it on others. She is not obliged to go through that whole time-wasting process to make a coffee.

9. Time to vote as OP asks the internet if she was wrong to snap at her fiance for not making her coffee the way he wanted her to.

I will be very hoenst with you guys, I don’t think OP was the AH in this case. This is a clear NTA because everyone has a preference. She doesn’t say anything to him for making his coffee in such a specific, time taking way. So why should he interrupt his fiance’s way of making the coffee. Just let people be. I feel like he was being way too picky and she was right to snap because her coffee, her method.

10. So the coffees are made separately or at different times which means they can’t make it all together using his method. So she uses her simple one to get a coffee out as soon as possible for herself.

11. Okay…

12. That’s nice that OP doesn’t mess with his process ever. He likes it so he does it.

Just when we thought it was the end of it, one year later OP returned to Reddit and shared a very important update:

13. Oh my god, so it was a lot more than just controlling how she made her coffee. She actually left him for being toxic.

14. OP saw through the relationship and realized it was unhappy. Wow, I did not expect this.

Here’s what the internet had to say on the matter:

15. The community was in favor OP and declared her NTA.
