Woman Served Her Mother In Law Dog’s Water, Asks Reddit Whether She Was Right Or Wrong

Mothers-in-law and daughters-in-law often clash.

And we have just the story to prove it today. It is a spicy one and you guys are going to thoroughly enjoy it. You might have wondered why is the relationship between these two parties always on the edge and not as comfortable as it is supposed to be. Well, from what I have seen throughout my life, one of the main reasons why the two clash is the expectations. The mother-in-law has way high expectations and always wants everything to be perfect from the daughter-in-law’s side.

Today’s Reddit story depicts the same relationship we are so familiar with, between a mother-in-law and a daughter-in-law. The daughter-in-law posted on Reddit about a very awkward situation she and her husband got in that involved her MIL. MIL claimed that the two had served her dog’s water in the glass and that they had plans to give her infections and kill her. The DIL saw no problem as the pitcher had just been filled with clean water and served in the glasses right away. So, super confused, OP decided to turn to Reddit asked the community members whether she was right or wrong for serving her MIL water? Water that she thought was dog’s water.

There is one factor that we haven’t discussed here and you will come to know about it when you read the story. And that will make things super clear for you.

Now without further ado, scroll down below to read what really happened!

1. By that title? Yes. But let’s investigate further before jumping to a conclusion like a headless chicken.

2. Nice to see the in-laws having a nice relationship with the son’s wife. They are over for dinner

3. Hold on a minute, looks like things are going to take a very early turn. Dog’s water? In a pitcher for the in-laws to drink?

4. So does the dog drink from the pitcher that is being used by the MIL? Or is it used to pour water into the dog’s bowl?

5. Okay that clears it. So the dog doesn’t drink from the pitcher but the pitcher is used to fill a bowl that the dog drinks from. I think that’s fine.

6. As long as the dog doesn’t touch the pitcher, everything should be fine and the story should ideally end at that point.

7. There we go, the MIL believed the stepdaughter and is now offended that they served her dog water.

8. Seriously, what part of this the mother-in-law doesn’t understand.

9. I don’t think so. You poured her clean water and that’s the end of it.

10. Let’s have the humans decide whether you were right or wrong.

I am sorry I need to get this out of the way, this term “dog water” is so hilarious. What type of water do dogs drink? The normal one. But apparently, it becomes dog water when they touch it. So should we start calling the water we drink “human water”? That was funny. Anyways, I don’t think OP was the AH in this situation. Like, I fail to understand why the MIL couldn’t get a grip on the fact that the water was poured into her glass from the same pitcher that is used to pour water for the dog in its bowl. The pitcher, in no way, touches the dog or anything related to the dog so it is clean. I think you need some brain cells to understand this and the MIL had none.

Here’s what the Redditors had to say:

11. Hence proved, that MIL has no cells in the brain.

12. I hope the community got the sarcasm in this comment.

13. We are all drinking dog’s water from now on.

14. It’s a clean pitcher and OP doesn’t need to explain herself at all. Either drink the water or don’t drink it, your choice MIL.

15. Looks like Redditors had a very good laugh, and so did we.

16. This does help paint the picture.
