What even constitutes a gold digger?
A person who is much younger than their partner and the supposed partner is rich? Or is it just about the money and not the age? Can we really put a blanket term on all of these people? However, we are not here to discuss the intricacies of a gold-digger but what we are here to see is a relationship with some issues. You see, when you decide to get into a relationship with someone, it is your responsibility to defend them when they are being wronged even if the ones insulting them are your family.
I feel like a lot of people tend to forget this and are okay standing by while their partner gets insulted. While I understand that it is hard to stand up to your family and sometimes you want to keep the peace but that doesn’t mean you can get pissed at your partner when the do the job themself. But that is exactly what is happening in this particular story. This guy’s parents kept calling her out for being a gold-digger and she was tired of taking it so she blew up.

Right from the start, his family have been clear that they do not like this woman and call her a gold-digger any chance they get.
She usually ignores the insinuations as her Fiance tends to keep quiet through it all.
So when they visited his family, she was surprised by his mother’s behaviour.
She decided that she had enough of the slander and told them the truth which certainly shocked them.
He on the other hand was not so happy with how she handled this situation.
And even went as far as to call himself an innocent bystander which is rich.
I understand that he didn’t want to tell his parents as he might have been embarrassed but then he should have stood up for his partner. What else was she supposed to do when they kept insinuating that she was only with him for the money? The only way to put this thing to rest was by telling them that their son was unemployed and she was the one paying the bills. I am also surprised by how the family reacted. I realize that he lied to them and it is fine to be disappointed about that but the fact that he doesn’t have a job anymore should not embarrass his parents.
People in the comments felt sorry for her as well and advice her to think this relationship through.
