The people in your life will usually have a lot of expectations after discovering that you are suddenly richer than before. Money always ends up ruining relationships and uncovering the ugly truth. That’s one of the reasons why many people would rather not advertise the fact that they came into some money. Once people find out about it, you could potentially become the first person they resort to when they run out of money.

After her mother passed away, the user recently received an inheritance, and she received criticism for leaving the restaurant without paying for everyone. Due to their apparent obsession with her inheritance, the OP should exercise caution around her in-laws and husband. They have no right to demand that she spend her money on them as it is her money. It was truly wrongful of the in-laws to even make a fuss about OP’s leaving the restaurant.
