“Clumsy” Sister-in-law Gets Served Dinner On A Kids Place, Leaves The Dinner In Tears

In most places, family dinner is expected to provide a peaceful, headache-free time to gather with your loved ones and savor some really good food. However, some relatives end up finding ways to complicate things and take the peace away from you. In today’s Reddit AITA story, a woman, OP. noticed that her ornate china dishes were unexpectedly breaking whenever she entertained family at her house. She made it her mission to find out why this happens and what she found out shocked her. Keep on reading to see the full story:

#2) OP has some fine china sets that she sets out on family dinners that her SIL does not like. She found one broken in the sink in February but thought it was an accident.

#3) In April and May OP’s SIL broke two plates each month. She also broke two things in June so OP’s mom got her a camera.

#4) In July, OP caught the SIL on camera breaking one of her plates.

#5) The most recent dinner, OP served food to her SIL in children’s plates and called her out for being childish.

#6) OP played the footage and the SIL took the food and left.

#7) OP’s husband told her she was out of line for this and is being cold with her. SIL’s boyfriend asked OP to apologize.

Everyone wants their relationship with their in-laws to be so secure that they comfortably hang out with or shop with without needing their spouse to be present, but that’s not often a reality. That is acceptable to an extent but when you find yourself in confrontation with a particularly unlikeable sister-in-law, navigating family affairs can be difficult. That’s why it’s really important to acknowledge and address the elephant in the room when you have a family member who’s not acting inappropriately toward you.
