So if you want a dog but one that looks like a kitty, Mainecoons might be your best bet. You really are getting the best of both worlds with these lovable giants.
And while we all know cats are natural-born predators, there is no need to fear these big kitties. Because even if they’re bigger than other cats, it just means there is more of them to love and nothing else. Mainecoons actually used to be hunters in the old days and thus they have retained their size even today while losing their ferocity. This means you can actually take your kitty on walks if you want. I am not saying every mainecoon would be fine with this but many are and they actually enjoy it. You can also spot a mainecoon from a mile away from their tell-tale fluffy ears and beard-like coat of fur.
