12 Facts About Harry Potter Movies That Potterheads Learned Many Years Later

The legacy of Harry Potter shall and will never die.

It only seems like yesterday when I entered the universe of Harry Potter. It has been 20 years since the first movie was released. Damn, I was only 3 back then. Since then, the Harry Potter universe has been part of of our universe. We are one. Some of us have read the books as well, now what was completed in the first books or the movies, varies for most Potterheads. But whoever is a proper Potterhead would claim that they know everything about the Harry Potter series. Every minute detail, every dialogue, every character, every fact, every figure.

But when the authors are alive, they always churn things up every now and then. JK Rowling keeps feeding the audience with more and more. And the Potterheads are always there to absorb all that new information.

Here are some new facts discovered from the Harry Potter movies. If you are a Potterhead, you will go bananas.

1. Here’s the saddest fact of them all, Neville and Luna actually broke up.

Neville actually ended up marrying Hanna Abbot.

2. The wizards of the Harry Potter world never actually used the bathroom, not even the old professors who probably had no control on their spinchter muscles.

They are wizards after all, why would they need a bathroom?

3. Who remembers the exciting Knight Bus? The bus was almost excluded from the movie. Thankgod that never happened.

The moviemakers suggested a lot of alternatives to the Knight Bus but none of them were approved and the bus was eventually selected to e part of the movie. I am happy.

4. J.K Rowling revealed that Harry Potter had no relatives other than the Dursleys. That is why he was left at their house, there were no other options.

Makes my heart cry.

5. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, Professor Umbridge was indeed punished for all the crimes she committed in the Potterworld.

6. The scene where Hermione fought the troll almost got cut out of the movie.

The directors actually asked JK to cut the scene out but Rowling insisted to keep the scene in as it was a crucial binder for the three characters.

7. We are really sorry for this but here’s a super sad fact: Hagrid never got married.

Just not enough giants.

8. The self obsessed Professor Lockhart actually sent over 800 valentine cards to none other than himself.

It is also found that he got week-long detentions for carrying his own name in big block letters on the Quidditch field. What a rockstar.

9. Snape’s portrait in the headmaster’s room was actually put there by none other than Harry Potter himself

People believed of him as a Death Eater. Harry, of course knew the truth and sided with it.

10. The appearance of Crookshanks was actually inspired by a real cat that J.K Rowling came across in a cafe.

The cat was very stubborn and didn’t want to get pet by Rowling either. That’s when she decided to give Hermione a cat.

11. Remember Dudley? His son could actually have been a wizard.

The genes would’ve been passed on from Harry’s mother. But that thought remained a thought.

12. Sirius could have had owners as Padfoot but that never happened due to…reasons.
