Artist Highlights The Problems With “I Am Not Like Other Girls” Attitude With Brutally Honest Comics

Cartoons have long been a passion of Julie Hang’s. since she was a young child. But Julie’s commitment to her little day is more than that. Make yourself feel different from others and that it’s acceptable because she’s “not like other girls.”
I had a terrible time establishing friends and was an embarrassed, upset youngster. Instead of attempting to identify my issue and find a solution, I decided that I would stand out from the other girls. I mentioned other girls, which gives me the impression that doing so is “cool.”

It was a clean slate for everyone, giving me the freedom to ignore the categories and preconceptions I’ve been following for so long in favour of the other girls. So I did exactly that. What followed can only be characterised as an affidavit that I was distancing myself from the group of people I felt the most a sense of belonging to. I shared a lot of things with “other girls”! I made friends for life who are clever, witty, caring, and gentle from a variety of backgrounds and hobbies. These girls are all distinctive in their own ways.
