Awful New Store Owner Gets Told Off By Employee Who Quit After They Bought The Store

When you work under a bad boss, as an employee there is always an urge to give them a taste of their own medicine, on their face, and them storming right out followed by a 2-week notice.

Fortunately for Reddit user u/LocalLiBEARian, he got the chance to do just that. The main driving factor for OP to actually do this was the fact that finding jobs in the 1980s was very easy (yes, the story is set in the 80s). Nowadays, employees may not be able to achieve this golden dream because it may not be possible for them to find a new job after quitting the previous one, especially after the global pandemic Covid-19.

Without giving anything away, this is a story about an employee who worked in a store that got itself a new owner. That new owner was a male version of a Karen and he wanted to enforce himself on his employees like he not only owns the store but owns them as well. Bad for him, OP had other plans. The rest is for you guys to read and explore.

4. The store OP worked at was really good at serving and satisfying customers…and would happily shut Karens down whenever they showed up.

5. Looks like Ken got ahead of himself thinking he already owns the store. Nope, OP is not going to take your orders yet.

6. OP helped wind up everything, closed the store, and handed his key to the store.

I can bet things will not go well for the store once Ken takes over it. You can already tell by his entitled behavior. He wants things to work the way he wants, not the way they are supposed to be worked. You can pick up any case when an owner tries to be over-efficient because they have money and an inflated ego, things go south very quickly.

The store now belongs to Ken. Let’s see how things proceed from here on. Scroll down to continue reading!

7. OP confirms the store now belongs to Ken and steps out from behind the counter.

8. Ken started yelling at OP and in response she told him she doesn’t work for him.

9. OP communicated her decision about quitting work to Ken to shut him up once and for all.

10. The final nail in the coffin. Take that, Ken.

11. A perfectly running store dusted into the ground thanks to the big bubble of entitlement that Ken lived in.

I really wish Ken now realizes that the problem is in him and not the whole world. The operational store got shut down just because of his own entitlement. Such people do not know how to do business, they only know how to tell other people they are wrong and that is about it. Surely, Ken misses OP now.
