15+ Babysitters Share The Weirdest Rules Parents Asked Them To Follow

Babysitters have a difficult job.

You’d think that being a babysitter would be simple. After all, aren’t most babysitters teenagers or young adults fresh out of high school? Many people choose babysitting as their first job, but it is far more difficult than this trend suggests. You are not only paid pennies for a lot of work, but the parents will also make rules that you must follow or you will be fired. And because many babysitters are young, they are unaware that they have the ability to refuse. I’m not going to criticise anyone’s parenting style because everyone does what works for them, but there are a lot of things that are objectively wrong or strange.

Today, we’ll be talking about the latter. A Redditor, you see, asked people to tell them about the strangest rules parents made them follow as babysitters. As you might expect, many babysitters came out of the woodwork with their stories. And I must say that I am quite surprised by some of these, which I did not believe was possible after using the Internet for so long. There will be a lot of crazy here, from parents being creepy about nut allergies to asking the babysitter to throw away baby food after two spoons.

I imagine wild children being chaotic or making a mess when I think of crazy babysitting stories. You don’t normally consider parents being involved in that. However, I believe that when it comes to babysitting stories, children get a bad rep. That is why we are only focusing on stories about parents and their unreasonable demands. Some of these are outright bizarre, while others are out of the ordinary but understandable. However, this is not the end, and there are still more stories to read.
