Cat Sneaks Into Zoo And Befriends A Lynx Cat

Friendship knows no bounds, no matter what kind of animal you are.

It is always the oddest kinds of friendships that make the strongest bonds. We, humans, are very choosy when we make friends. We want a certain type of person with a specific personality and traits that fit our own needs. We need them to fulfil certain designations to start considering them our friend. It doesn’t happen like that in the animal world. Animals don’t seem to care what species or breed they are befriending. If they like another animal, they like them and that’s it. This is why animal friendships are pure. They have no terms and conditions and all they give each other is unconditional, raw love.

That was the case in Leningrad St. Petersburg’s Zoo, one of the earliest zoos in Russia. One day, a regular Russian cat just snuck into the zoo. She was homeless and made her way into the enclosure of a European lynx. Surprisingly, there was no hissing or fighting, the lynx and the calico cat actually became really close friends! Scroll down below to read more about the story:

As narrated by the locals, the calico cat had no home and was trying to find food, which she spotted in the Lynx’s enclosure.

The Lynx did not hesitate in welcoming the calico cat and was happy to share her food with her.

“It seems as if the cat needs the lynx as much as she needs her”, says Lovemeow.

The Lynx and the cat are now best buddies and there seems to be nothing that can separate them.

Seeing this beautiful friendship, the zoo has also adopted the cat and it is always hanging around with the lynx in its enclosure. Since the calico cat was just a little kitten when she found the lynx, she considers the lynx to be her mother. Isn’t that adorable? And the lynx did not think twice before accepting the little baby kitten as her own. They are often seen cuddling and eating together.

Even though this is a friendship one would not expect to see, we see miracles like these happen every day. Cats are already very loving creatures, and even though lynx cats are considered dangerous by some, they can be very affectionate too. That is very apparent in this story. The zoo takes care of the calico cat as well so it can live with the lynx and give it company. I guess they really do need each other.
