Cats are weird.
Don’t worry I am not here to sh*t on cats because I genuinely love cats but most people would agree that sometimes they make us scratch our heads with their behavior. I mean who hasn’t gotten a few scratches when trying to pet their kitty because she came close to you and started rubbing your leg. Understandably this would mean that they want attention but when you try to do that, they either run away or ask you politely to stop by scratching your hand.
Even if there comes a time when we can understand what our cats think or say, we still won’t know what they’re up to. I really do believe that cats are way too mysterious to make any sort of sense. That is exactly where the talk of zoomies comes in. And not any kind of zoomies as apparently there are specific kinds of zoomies that only happen after your cat takes a poop. I was not aware that this was a thing but here we are.

Honestly, I don’t know if this normal behavior.
Loving these comments cos one of my cats does the opposite: pre-poop zoomies. It makes absolutely no sense, he runs around yelling and carrying on for like 15 minutes and then poops, and then he just sort of lies down normally. In my head, it’s like he’s going ‘I’M UNCOMFORTABLE!!!! WHY????????” and then after a while, he goes ‘oh yeah, poop’
But apparently, it happens a lot as other people chimed in with their stories.
Essentially a lot of cats do this and there is no explanation behind it.
There is actually some science behind this phenomenon as well. According to experts, cats get a sort of euphoric feeling similar to humans after they poop. However, for humans, it is not that strong and the cat’s blood pressure actually lowers giving them a lightheaded feeling. So essentially your cat is a tiny bit high every time they poop and that might be the reason they fly around for a few minutes afterward.
Some people even have unique names for this phenomenon.
I mean this does make sense in a weird sort of way.
There is another name and I have to agree with this one.
I might have spoken too soon and this particular name is hilarious.
No matter what type of litter you may get, they will kick it all around and make a mess.
I might have to read up on this before I can say for sure.
