Some parents believe that they own their children. I understand how difficult it is to accept that your child has grown up and requires privacy, but putting them in situations where they are uncomfortable just because you are on a power trip is not the way to go. Just because your child refuses to do something or show you something does not mean they are keeping something from you.
This is especially true if your child has reached the age of maturity and is considered an adult. It always surprises me when I see parents who treat their children as if they are extensions of themselves rather than individual human beings. At least, that’s what’s going on in this particular scene. This mother believes that forcing her daughter to show her whether or not her bra fits is the proper thing to do. I've seen a lot of parents give their children the silent treatment when things don't go their way. I apologise if I sound harsh, but that is not only manipulative, but also childish. If you are dissatisfied with something, talk to your daughter like an adult and work it out. However, this mother would rather act like a spoiled brat than show her daughter some respect.
And it's hilarious that the whole thing is about a bra. Does this woman believe she owns her daughter?
