It is a mutual decision of the couple whether they want to have kids or not.
You cannot force someone to have or not have kids as long as they want it. Everyone has a right to choose what is right and wrong for them. It is really important to talk to your partner about every important decision of future life before getting married rather than getting married and having issues on little things. A husband took it to Reddit to share how he and his wife never wanted kids and they had discussed it before getting married but after a year or so OP’s wife wanted to have kids. OP dismissed the conversation and told her that he is already co-parenting two dogs and do not want any kids. Now he wants to know if he is right for doing what he did.

7. Ending the conversation is not the solution.

Dismissing a conversation is not the right way. It shows that OP is nullifying his wife’s emotions and desires. He should sit and talk to his wife. OP should at least hear why his wife wants to have kids and then tell her his point of view. OP should never go for a vasectomy because you never know when your opinion changes about having kids.
8. NTA for not wanting to have kids but definitely YTA for not considering what his wife wanted to say.
