Employee Resigns, Then Receives Email From HR 2 Years Later That They Are Fired

Consider quitting your work and moving to a whole new city, then two years later getting a call from your previous employer. It’s not a well-wisher, and it’s not even a query about a previous project from when you worked there. No, it was a letter of termination for “job abandonment,” of all things. Come again?

The Redditor said that to put it mildly, their ex-boss was a little disorganized. That most definitely clarifies a lot. How was this possible for him to botch up? There was no warning of this happening because, as the OP further commented, they weren’t paid a salary and didn’t receive money after quitting. Our key conclusion is that, at least according to their public records, HR is obviously up to something suspicious here. The good news is that this almost has no impact on the OP’s future employment—something they should absolutely keep in mind.

So keep on scrolling down below to know and see what really happened here make sure you ladies and gentlemen read it till the end otherwise, you are not going to get the whole point here.

1. OP had already left the job in 2021 with a resignation letter but last week the management sent this to OP

2. The OP is confused about this situation, and he also mentioned that the boss was negligent.

3. Apparently, from the former place where OP used to work he received this that he hasn’t visited, signed in, or done anything in two years although OP had already resigned.

4. Now OP is seeking advice or information so that his record would be clean from the accusation of job abandonment

5. While some of them saw this as a funny scenario and asked OP to make sure that the company pays him for 2 years

7. NO if you are also wondering that OP received paid time off leave he did not because he had already resigned from the job lol

8. Yes it could be some new HR trying to take over previous matters in his hands

9. And this user thinks that it would be a new HR or a Finance person who did an employee audit check well, OP does not have to worry about this as he already resigned from the job.

10. Exactly OP can contact them and let the management know that he wasn’t fired but he actually resigned from the job

11. If OP has anything from these two things then the problem is already solved

This type of problem happens rarely but it happens when a new HR or a Finance person has done an employee audit to check the ghost employees who haven’t been showing up to work lately. They probably do not have any record of why the person is missing or why haven’t they come to work yet?
