Flying can be an exhilarating experience but it can also be a stressful one especially if you encounter an entitled customer.
Dealing with customers daily is not an easy task. They would make silly demands that you can hardly fulfill. An airline employee recently went viral on social media after outsmarting one such customer by maliciously complying with his request to upgrade his flight. A Reddit user who used to work at a regional airline shared with the Reddit community that they used to have a local businessman flyer who was friends with VP and would always come to the check-in to ask for last-minute upgrades and discounts.
One day, this local businessman checked in and wanted an upgrade to business class on an already discounted ticket that was not even eligible for an upgrade. OP told him that they cannot upgrade his ticket so he immediately called his VP friend. VP called OP and told him to upgrade his ticket if there is room. OP’s brain worked and he knew this was the right time for malicious compliance. Scroll down to read the complete story.

Well, there should be some rules and regulations for airlines and overriding an airline’s policy is not a small thing. It should be taken seriously. Strict rules should be made that apply to every customer. The front-line employees should not be allowed to overrule the policies set by the airline. Well, OP did the right thing to teach this entitled customer a lesson.
While OP was talking to the lady, he told her that she has received a free upgrade to business class and the lady was very happy.

OP upgraded four other passengers in the next 20 minutes. Before OP went to board the flight, he told OP that he cannot offer him an upgrade since business class is full.

The teacher that OP upgraded thanked OP again.

We are sure the lady still tells people about OP.
