When it is time to assemble, disassemble, or clean something that looks a bit complex, one thing that can help you a lot is the instruction manual that comes packed with the product. The manual contains details about everything that allows you to work the product in the most efficient way. In terms of cleaning a complex machine, it is not advised to just drench it in soap and power wash it away. Sometimes, according to the manual, you have to disassemble the whole thing and may even have clean each part in a different way, and it may also tell you to not touch a specific part at all, just let it be as it is.
Unfortunately though, in today’s story, we have a boss who doesn’t like going by the manual and wanted a certain machine to be cleaned the way she wanted it to be cleaned. Reddit user pettyrusty shared in the infamous subreddit “Malicious Compliance” that the company had recently replaced their $5000 wheel meat slicer because the previous one had started to make loud noises and didn’t work efficiently. OP was tasked with cleaning the new slicer and they did so thoroughly by following the instruction manual that came with it. The boss, however, did not like the way OP was cleaning the machine and ordered them to disassemble the whole thing and clean each part separately and thoroughly, something that the manual advised them not to do. Left with no other option, OP complied with their boss’ orders and cleaned it the way she wanted them to clean it. And behold, the machine got ruined within a week and the boss was left shocked as if she had no idea what had just happened and how did it happen.

I actually cannot believe someone could be this dumb. What was wrong with just following the manual? Like it was hurting OP to clean it the way the boss said, surely. No one wants to see a $5000 machine get ruined in just 7 days. They always have to learn it the hard way. And the worst part is they still don’t learn it. God knows when will they learn to cooperate.
