On TikTok, a video of a guy named Steve reconnecting with his daughter’s dog, Bitsy, was uploaded. Hayden Kristal’s puppy is extremely special because she was born blind and deaf, but that didn’t stop her from adopting her at the age of five weeks.

They were worried about how the puppy would cope with life at first, but she rapidly proved that they were wrong. “She’s always been her own woman,” Hayden told The Dodo. “When I took her home, the first thing she did was make a beeline for the food dish, crawl into it, and eat until she passed out.”

2. Steve was worrying that this pup would not recognize him anymore, but surprisingly this worry was gone instantly as the doggo started greeting him

She’s still a lovely, enthusiastic dog five years later, just like she was as a puppy, enjoying her days with a few siblings and her mother. Bitsy and her mother had to separate from their family when COVID limitations were implemented last year in order for everyone to be safe. That meant the puppy and his father would be separated for a year.

Her father was concerned that Bitsy wouldn’t remember him after a year away, but this was not the case, as the dog immediately recognized her grandfather’s embrace. She was licking the man’s face and leaping up and down.

3. Bitsy started moving up and down in excitement and licking Steve’s face it was difficult to interpret who was happier at that moment the dog or the man

“As soon as I arrived within scent range, she went insane with delight.” “I felt the same way,” Steve posted on Facebook. “Once again, Bitsy demonstrated that the skills she possesses greatly outweigh the ones she lacks. What an incredible and loving soul. Maybe you can tell how much we love one other from this video.”

Hayley’s father adores his granddog more than he could have anticipated, and the two spend as much time together as they can. “He is her biggest supporter and biggest fan,” Hayden stated.

“He’ll tell anyone who will listen how wonderful she is and how much he adores her.” He spoils her with sweets and toys like a regular grandpa, and she enjoys just hanging around with him.”

Bitsy has gone on hikes, canoeing, subway rides, and even skating with her mother all around the country. Hayden described Bitsy as “the sweetest, friendliest, most loving, and devoted dog in the world.” “She’s brash and outspoken, and she’s always up for an adventure!” She also appears to enjoy ribs and BBQ sauce.

Hayden expresses his gratitude for Bitsy by saying that she has radically impacted his perspective on the world. “She’s taught me so much about love, life, and consuming whole rotisserie chickens before an authority figure can remove the bird shrapnel from your thieving hyena jaws,” she said in one  Instagram post.

It’s wonderful that the family can rejoin, but you might have the same questions I do about how deaf and blind dogs navigate the world and how excellent a dog’s memory is in general. Let’s delve a little deeper if you’re as intrigued as we are.

Even when dogs can see and hear, the most important way they engage with the world is through smell, according to Pet Place. As a result, dogs without hearing will rely on smell and touch to know when someone is nearby, causing them to become much more attached to their human friends than previously. For stability and comfort, they rely largely on predictable routines, so maintaining things like bedding and feeding bowls in the same place is really beneficial.

13. Bitsy is cool and fun-loving be like Bitsy
