Hogwarts Legacy Video Game Review – No Bullshit, Just Honest Opinion

The wizarding world just cannot stay away from us and neither can we.

The Harry Potter universe was created by writer J.K. Rowling and it really changed our lives forever. We started viewing life in a whole different way by starting to believe in magic. To the fans, this universe is like an emotion, you cannot kill it. And the beauty of it works both ways, you cannot force anyone to love it either, it just happens on its own and once it does, there is no going back to the normal world.

After the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 movie, we thought the universe ended entirely but it is far bigger than just the original books and the movies. There are many games created around the storyline and some keep Hogwarts as its base and introduce new ideas to the universe. And of course, we also have Fantastic Beasts, it is unfortunate that the Franchise. I really was looking forward to the final battle.

Speaking of games, in no time at all we are going to be taken back into the Wizarding World through a new game about to be released on 10th February 2023. Its name is Hogwarts Legacy.

Hogwarts Legacy has been nominated for the award of the most anticipated game of the year.

Hogwarts Legacy is an open-world, entertainment game that follows a story narrative and is based in the Harry Potter universe. The single-player video game is available on all the latest consoles like PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S, and Nintendo Switch. The game can also run on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, as well as Microsoft Windows.

The role-playing game filled with lots of action has been developed by Avalanche Software. The publisher, of course, is Warner Bros. Games under their label of Portkey Games.

We finally have a Harry Potter game that does true justice to the universe and really has taken over the hearts of all the Potterheads.

The open-world genre of the game allows the player to experience The Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in its entirety and the detailing will make you never want to stop roaming around your favorite school ever.

There are many side hustles in the game, which I normally like to refer to as diversions, that you would definitely want to engage in, ultimately resulting in you playing the game for over a hundred hours. Yes, the game lacks a bit when it comes to providing variation in terms of the enemies, but the graphical aspect, the experiential aspect, and the narrative of the game compensate very well for that. So few villains won’t make you stop playing the game.

The game begins with your character in the 5 years of Hogwarts.

We don’t really know why it is specifically the 5th year. The game, just like all the previous Harry Potter games, has many plotholes and it seems like the creators just want us to accept them at this point with the only rationale provided that “anything can happen in a magical world.”

You can either be a witch or a wizard in the game and experience the fun by taking classes, having duels, casting spells, fighting bad creatures, and proceeding in the game to ultimately win it.

You can customize your witch or wizard exactly the way you want. This will allow a stronger connection between you and the main character in the game.

Yes, it is true that you have to deal with the paintings and them guiding you have given you instructions. But that also exists interactions with other characters in the game that give shape to the story and move it ahead, so that is a plus point.

According to those who have played the pre-release version tell it takes just over 30 hours, on average, to complete the main story. I like the sound of that.

So, who is ready? I just cannot wait for this to come to release and get my hands on it. I am a die-hard Potterhead so you can tell my anxiousness levels are really high. The thing about such games that are inspired by books and movies is that they already have a set of fans that are bound to play them. This set of fans includes everyone who has been touched by the Potterverse. The cool thing to see here would be how the game impacts non-Harry Potter fans. Based on early reviews, the story has the full potential to impress top gamers.

I am sure most of us will spend most of our time exploring the school rather than playing the actual game. Is that a good thing or negative, that depends from player to player…

I am excited and I hope Hogwarts Legacy exceeds all our expectations.
