Mainecoons actually used to be hunters in the old days and thus they have retained their size even today while losing their ferocity. This means you can actually take your kitty on walks if you want. I am not saying every mainecoon would be fine with this but many are and they actually enjoy it. You can also spot a mainecoon from a mile away from their tell-tale fluffy ears and beard-like coat of fur.
