Management Won’t Approve Employee’s Overtime, Employee Left For Home Early, Overtime Got Approved

If a manager is not paying you for the overtime, start leaving early and you will get paid.

Do you know that if employees stop working overtime, a company would lose clients which cause them a good profit? An employee who posted on Reddit used to work for a big telephone company. OP had three other coworkers working in his department. One day, all three of them were not present in the office so OP covered the duties of all three of them. He did not even utilize his two breaks. When he gave his timesheet to the manager and told him that he has worked 9 hours, the manager told him that he can not approve overtime but he can leave an hour early on Friday. OP agreed. On Friday, two of the employees were absent and the third one left early for an interview. OP got an order for a T3 which was an expensive order. OP told the client that he has to leave because management does not approve overtime and the night shift guy would deal with it. OP clocked out and he had not even reached his car when he got a call from the management telling him that overtime is approved but OP did not listen to him and preferred to leave for home.
