Manager Gets Met With Malicious Compliance After Hiring Employees At A Higher Rate Than The Senior Employees

Only work with dedication if you don’t have an unfair boss.

Because if you do, you will never be acknowledged for all the hard work and effort you put in, no matter how hard you try. And that is mainly because they always think about themselves and the immediate gain they could possibly make by squeezing all employees, even though they are the company’s best asset. It is said if you want the business to succeed in the most efficient and effective way possible, focus on your employees more than anything because they are the foundation that the organization builds upon, and then operates. So honoring your senior workers, employees with the most experience is the way to go forward and you can honor these assets by giving them higher pay, promotions, and other incentives to keep them motivated to work at their full potential, or even outperform themselves.

But all of this is not possible if the top management is terrible. In today’s Reddit story we are going to be discussing a typical case of management being unfair to its employees but through a new and unique story. Reddit user tpb772000 shared their experience of working with unfair management.

They shared the management decided to hire some new employees and decided to give them a higher hourly rate than those who had already been working at the company, with far more experience and seniority. The senior employees decided they won’t be having any of it and worked their way through the matter by maliciously complying with their manager. Yes, now you are interested. We all just love someone who is unfair to others, being given a dose of maliciousness.

1. OP worked at a grocery store that required cashiers because quite a few decided to leave and the spots had to be filled.

2. The management announced an attractive offer to hire new cashiers, a rate that was higher than the one being given to the existing employees.

3. This annoyed OP as he had more experience than those being paid more than him. It felt unfair.

4. OP didn’t even demand a higher wage than those employees, he just wanted to be on a level playing field.

5. OP one day decided to come in, went to the manager, and quit his job. Expect some maliciousness coming.

6. OP then, after satisfying their leisure need applied to the same organization they quit from, and guess who was going to take their interview, the same general manager.

7. OP applied as a new hire because the higher rate was only for newly hired employees. And with the referral code, I think it is a check mate.

8. The song “this is how we do it” just started playing in my mind and I love it.

This was absolutely beautiful. I am a sucker for good malicious compliance. You abide by the rules yet you make them feel like a fool. It is a trickery not all can master but OP executed it perfectly. The manager should’ve understood from this where he went wrong. He should understand if an employee had to do all that to get a higher wage then it surely means he was being unfairly paid and that the senior employees should be paid more.

Don’t lose the gold by attracting litter.

Here’s what the internet had to say about this:

9. Maybe the manager thought dimes automatically multiply. No, they don’t.

10. The only thing running through that manager’s mind was to fill in the spots. That’s all.
