Mother-In-Law Tells Husband That His Daughter Didn’t Deserve The Gifts She Was Getting, Petty Revenge Ensues

One major part of Christmas is the gifts. Kids wait all year long for this part. And why shouldn’t they? Many parents say Christmas is all about spoiling your children and I totally agree with this. However, one MIL had other thoughts. In today’s story, Reddit user u/theantigrinch shared that after getting a job that paid him very nicely, he decided to buy a lot of gifts for his family members including his daughter. He decided to get some really expensive gifts for them all. However, when OP’s MIL saw so many gifts under his Christmas tree, she enquired about them which resulted in her getting to know that OP was giving his daughter a lot of gifts. MIL said OP shouldn’t do this and teach his daughter a lesson that not everyone can get whatever they want.

OP didn’t like this. MIL had planned to give his daughter a doll that she chose not to give anymore to teach the same lesson. OP decided to turn this around on his MIL by switching the $600 designer bag he was going to give his MIL with a cheap robe. To teach MIL that we cannot get everything we wish for.

2. As OP got a better-paying job, he decided to get good Christmas gifts for his family, wanting to spend the most on gifts for his nine-year-old daughter.

3. She had been really pushing herself and OP felt she deserved expensive gifts for Christmas.

4. However, when OP’s MIL got to know OP was getting so many gifts for everyone, she didn’t like it.

5. When OP told MIL she was gifting his daughter 6 presents, she said the girl didn’t deserve that many gifts.

6. MIL had promised a doll to her granddaughter but refused to give it as she wanted to teach the girl a lesson that no one can have everything.

7. OP felt this was unfair as the girl was looking forward to the doll…and that Christmas is all about spoiling kids.

8. OP decided the same lesson must be taught to his MIL so the expensive $600 designer bag that he had got for her, simply got replaced with a $40 robe.

This is beautiful revenge, not petty. MIL fully deserves this. Who gets jealous of a girl? Come on, you had it coming MIL.

Now she must realize, that parents try to make Christmas everything for their children. And she chose not to gift her granddaughter the doll she had promised. So bad. You never deserved that designer bag, MIL.
