Woman Wants To Name Her Son After Her Late Cat, Gets Grilled On Internet

We all must know where to draw the line.

It is important because knowing the limit saves you so much trouble. You don’t erupt into fights, you don’t have bad days, and you don’t get on the nerve of other people. You just have a nice life because you know the difference, very well, between what is right and what is wrong. So, you continue to operate within your ethical prism and succeeded in life in terms of sustaining healthy relationships with those who you love.

When you don’t know where to draw the line, tough times appear and those who love you the most may start hating you. Crossing the line may even make those people hate you who don’t even know yet that you crossed it. But one day, when they gain maturity, they will realize the truth and that wouldn’t be a great day for you. Today’s story touches upon a similar topic. A Reddit user posted in the community of AITA how she was extremely excited to have her 3rd child but her cat passed away a few months before her due date. When she delivered the baby, it was a son, she wanted to name him Jake. Jake also happened to be the name of OP’s cat who had passed away. Her husband absolutely hated the idea of naming their son after a dead cat but OP insisted, they keep this name as it would remind her of her cat and she would feel good.

6. Wow, she mentions she wanted to use the name so she could be reminded of her cat. The husband called her immature for that and I would’ve too.

7. Yes, Jake is a nice name. But your intention behind naming your kid Jake is not right, OP.

Yes, OP! You would be the biggest AH in the world for doing that. And I have three reasons to back my vote. Firstly, your husband refused to name the son Jake and if you still call him using that name, you would be disrespectful to your husband as there was no mutual consensus on that name. Second, this would be an injustice to your soon. Sooner or later, he will discover the truth about his name and he won’t be a happy person that day and neither would be OP because he would be extremely angry at her. And thirdly, what even is this woman on trying to name her son after her dead cat? She literally said she wants to be reminded of her cat every time she would take her son’s name. That’s so unfair to the kid. A terrible mom if she does this!

8. Jake is a nice name. OP’s intent is not nice.

9. The husband disagreed so you cannot insist on that name anymore. There has to be a mutual agreement.

10. Simple as that.

11. And he may start hating OP from that day onwards.

12. Jake cannot be a consideration anymore.

13. Agree on something else.

14. Imagine how bad would the son feel when he comes to know the reality about his name.
