Some people need no reason to create a scene. If you are being thrown under the bus by such a person, try not to give them any reaction because that is exactly what they are looking for. They are fetching for the tiniest of mistakes you make to turn everything on you. In today’s story, that is exactly what happened as a neighbor tried his best to get a reaction out of Reddit user u/33Sharpies but OP remained as calm as he could.
OP took his story to the internet as when trying to remain calm in a real situation, the annoyance and anger have to be let out somewhere. So internet it was for OP. He shared that his neighbor would always complain about him making loud noises by registering a protest through banging. However, according to OP none of the activities he does seem to make any loud noise. No matter what OP would do, the neighbor would get annoyed and start banging. OP has an alarm set for 5 a.m. to wake up for work, the neighbor would start banging on that as well. You name it, and that activity would be considered loud by the neighbor and he would start banging.
Although OP didn’t give any reaction, the banging got so out of control that it confused OP as to whether he was really being loud or not. So he took the matter to the infamous subreddit “Am I The A$$hole?” to know if living a regular life made him an AH or not.

1. Well if a person’s shift starts at 5:30 or 6, when else should they leave than not at 5?
2. When the downstairs neighbor feels OP makes noise, he records a protest by making noise as well.
3. However, OP believes he does no activity that actually ends up creating loud noises.
4. In fact, he takes extra precautions to make sure he isn’t noisy, in order to maintain peace in the apartment complex.
5. When OP’s alarm rings at 5 a.m. for him to go to work, the neighbor starts banging in anger. Even the noise of water dropping down from OP’s shower while he is showering results in the neighbor getting angry and starting to bang.
It seems like this neighbor likes to make banging noises at anything that makes him angry. He cannot report OP to the police for living his life in the most normal way possible, so banging is all he can really do. I would suggest OP because the neighbor’s protest is so limited, he must actually start making loud noises and annoy the neighbor right to his core so his banging would make some sense.

7. It seems like all the neighbor does is keep his ear up for any kind of noise that comes from OP’s house. This guy has a lot of time on his hands.
8. The banging noises are like confirmation for anything OP does in his apartment. Wake up. Bang. Poop. Bang.
9. For some reason, OP took the matter to the courts of the AITA community to know if living a normal life in his apartment made him an AH or not.
