Ever found yourself casually greeting a cat in your living area, only to realize it’s not your feline friend? No worries if you haven’t, but the members of the ‘My House, Not My Cat’ Facebook group certainly have. This community is all about sharing amusing pictures of “stranger cats” who unexpectedly show up in places where they don’t quite belong – think strangers’ homes, yards, and even offices!
Stephanie Holcomb, the brain behind the group, was inspired by the prevalence of ‘My House, Not My Cat’ memes. Intrigued by the humor in cats making themselves at home in places without resident felines, she decided to create a dedicated space for these entertaining encounters. According to Holcomb, these instances often involve cats nonchalantly entering homes through doggie doors or open windows, leaving bewildered non-cat owners with amusing stories to tell.

1. Upon returning home yesterday, this person found a surprising gift on their balcony: Santa had left behind a black kitty. To their astonishment, the feline proceeded to give birth to seven adorable kittens. Seven black cats born on Christmas – that’s considered quite fortunate!
2. In the first photo, it wasn’t their cat; it just entered the house and slept in their bed. The second photo captures the moment when the cat started climbing on them. In the third photo, it’s clear that he has become definitively their cat.
3. Last night, this guy handed a random cat a piece of bacon on his way home from the bar. The cat followed him for ten blocks and this is how he woke woke up.
4. The glass of water, and the house, belong to OP. However, the cat seen drinking the water in their house is not theirs; it belongs to their neighbor and goes by the name Ted.

Happy surprises, that’s what these are. Cats can make anyone’s day by doing the bare minimum. Surely, they had no intention to make these people happy with their surprise appearances. Perhaps, they were just looking for a kick or an exciting adventure that resulted in them being where they were found. In any way, I am sure both the person who found the cat and the cat were happy to be in the situations as shared by these people.
