2. As OP and her husband announced they were expecting, everyone got really excited. Her in-laws were certain she would have a baby boy and they would name him after her deceased FIL.
3. The in-laws would make OP participate in rituals that would confirm her delivering a boy.
4. However the ultrasound revealed she was carrying a girl. The husband started crying right away, and the in-laws made sure to fully communicate their disappointment to OP as well.
5. They would keep referring to OP’s girl as a boy and she did not like that. It felt like they disowned the girl right from the get-go.
6. After a while, OP’s SIL got in touch with her and apologized. She also informed her a baby shower was being arranged which excited OP.
7. When she arrived at the event, she noticed everything from the decorations to the cake was themed around a boy, not a girl.
We are in the 21st century and stuff like this still happens. You hate to see it. Humanity has not advanced one bit. What bothers me even more is the fact that the in-laws are in such big denial. They haven’t accepted OP is going to have a girl. As if having a girl would disgrace them before their relatives and friends. Terrible! I wish OP would get divorced and leave these people before giving birth. You can only imagine how terribly they would treat the little girl.

8. OP started yelling at her husband and in-laws for making her feel her daughter was unwanted.
