Reddit user u/Spycenrice‘s father has one brother and one sister. The two brothers were dr*ggies and the daughter, Aunt J, was estranged, she didn’t see anyone. Aunt J however would constantly ask OP’s grandmother (her own mother) for money and she would get it every time she would demand it.
Now OP’s grandmother is a woman who likes to keep a good track of where her money goes, who still owes it to her, and who has squared it off and is in the greens. At a point in life, OP’s grandmother got diagnosed with cancer and lost her fight. Before passing, she did not have any receivables on her tab, they were all paid.
When the time came to read Grandma’s will, it was revealed that OP and her sisters, her father, her uncle, and her grandpa were all given some amount of money. But when they read what J had got in the will, it said that she was still $14 in debt to her mother.
I will not say anything else. The rest is for you guys to read. Scroll down below to enjoy!
1. Debt in a will? Did we read that right? This one is going to be interesting.

2. How did OP’s grandma raise her kids with love when two of them became addicts and one is estranged? Not sure…but let’s continue.

3. Looks like Miss J., OP’s aunt, and grandma’s only daughter, is the center of today’s story.

4. J didn’t maintain a good relationship with her mother but would always ask her for money on a constant basis. Turns out, Mommy was keeping track of every single penny coming in and going out.

I like people who can ideally handle funds. Some of my relatives laugh at me for creating a monthly budget in Excel. Well, I save a lot more then and all credit goes to regular budgeting and pre-planning.

5. Unfortunately OP’s grandma passed away due to cancer. She made everyone clear her dues before she left. You go, Grandma!

6. Grandma had made a will according to which OP and her sisters, her Dad, her uncle, and her grandpa all got her money. But J was simply told she still owed $14 to her mother.

Mic drop. Oh my god! I actually cannot believe this. J had been taking a lot of mother from her grandmother as well and she was probably the only one left who had not cleared the dues. So this is how she demanded to be squared off, even after passing away. I really hope OP this old woman was a Chief Financial Officer in some country.
To be honest, I really want to know where J used to spend all that money. Let’s see how J reacted to the news that she was not getting any money from her mother’s assets, and that instead, she has to pay some back.

8. Oh, we finally know what she wanted all that money for. J had followed the path of her brothers.

10. Looks like grandmas love those people who help them save money.

11. That would have been the best.

12. There are no legal issues here, J is not getting anything. Period.

13. To be fair though. The fact that all her children were addicts, and I have talked about this above, alarms me a bit about her parenting. Groomed children don’t do dr*gs.

14. That is one way to make someone stop challenging your will.

15. Grandma, you have my respect.
