Rescue Worker Threatened A New Owner To Confiscate Their Dog If They Don’t Add Them On Facebook

One of life’s greatest joys is to adopt a dog. It feels as if you are bringing home a new family member and you treat it like your own baby. By rescuing a dog you get a sense of satisfaction that you did something good for someone and don’t even get me started on the excitement.

There are so many dogs out there in animal shelters anxiously waiting for their superheroes to come and provide them with a new life, a forever home for them happily live in. Shelters can’t be expanded too easily so in order to avoid overcrowding them, it is advised to adopt dogs from rescue shelters as compared to purchasing them from dog shops. It also costs less to get them from shelters.

Today’s story is a weird one that revolves around adopting dogs from shelters. Reddit user u/GoldLectura shared that they adopted a dog from a rescue shelter but the rescuer caused them a lot of trouble by threatening OP to confiscate their dog. And the only option they were presented to resolve the matter was to add the rescuer on Facebook. Yes, you read that right.

Scroll down below to read how it all went down.

1. The woman who fostered OP’s dog kept bugging them about accepting their friend request on Facebook and also wanted them to periodically upload pictures of the dog so she can get an update on the dog’s wellbeing.

2. She kept forcing OP to accept her friend request or else she will take legal action against them and also threatened to take the dog away.

3. Many people thought this was a fake story so OP made an edit to develop further clarity.

4. It really was an abnormal request.

5. No need to add anyone you don’t want to. No contract bounds OP to accept anyone’s friend request on Facebook.

6. That would be such a ridiculous order passed.

7. OP should get their dog chipped just in case the rescuer actually tries to steal their dog.

This foster is so creepy. I personally think once a person has adopted an animal, it should have no links with the shelter it got adopted from anymore. It makes no sense. The animal now has a new home to enjoy and staying in touch with the foster is not something I would be interested in.

OP should get the dog microchipped just in case this woman tries anything.

8. Best email ever.

10. File a police report if she continues to harass OP.

11. OP should take lots of photos of their dog for identification purposes if the woman ever tried to steal the dog and they had to file a police report.

12. As simple as that.

14. I would never adopt from such a place that creates contracts this creepy.

15. Make sure the rescue is not associated with the dog in any way.
