Boyfriend Tells Girlfriend’s Friend To Sit On The Porch Because Her Service Dog Affects His Cats

Our OP from today’s Reddit story, posted a situation in the AITA forum that left users shocked. When their girlfriend finally secured work-from-home privileges, unexpected problems arose for OP. Suddenly, the sporadic visits from the girlfriend’s friend Carrie, with her service dog, increased to numerous times weekly during their remote schedules – whereas before, she would only grace OP with her presence a few times a week. So basically the dilemma for OP is that their two cat siblings become very uneasy in the presence of dogs. While the unexpected visits were tolerable before, things had been growing out of control with Carrie’s frequent showings. Keep on reading to see what happens:

#2) OP’s girlfriend got a new job which lets her work for home. Her friend Carrie used to visit sometimes with her service dog that OP’s cats don’t get along with, but now she does it more often.

#4) It’s been going on for a while and it’s causing bad health for OP’s cats. OP talked to his girlfriend about it but she didn’t pass it on to Carrie.

#5) OP came up with many solutions but Carrie had excuses to say no to everything.

#6) OP went to work late as he was waiting for Carrie to go off on her about the situation with his cats. Carrie got defensive and ultimately suggested for OP to rehome the cats.

#7) OP said that he couldn’t care less about Carrie and her problems and she left. While OP’s girlfriend does see both sides, she ultimately declares OP the a**hole.

The feedback from the Reddit community was clear and undisputed. Everyone simply sided with OP’s stance. The suggestion to abandon his cats in favor of the Carrie and her dog’s frequent visits was seen as out of the question and, by some users, bold to the point that it became outright hilarious. The Redditors who were commenting even playfully pointed out the sheer balls of the request. Going further, to add insult to injury, Carrie was only coming to OP’s house because she said she struggled with feelings of isolation and loneliness.
