Sister Makes A Fuss About No Vegan Food At An Engagement Party, Gets Told Off

“Food preferences” is one of the few hot topics that will always remain hot for centuries to come. It is a choice and everyone should respect it. No one is supposed to laugh at someone for referring to a meat diet or a vegan diet. But it also must be understood because you have decided for yourself to be on a specific kind of diet and you happen to be at a place where your preferred food is not being served, you must not raise hell there. So, respect must be maintained from both ends, that is how it should be. Otherwise, we may see a third world war erupt on food preferences. Well, we actually kinda did in the Reddi story we have for you guys today.

u/noveganoptions recently got engaged and threw an engagement party for family and friends. Based on what the majority of guests liked eating, she had a meat option and a fish option for food. OP’s brother just one week before the engagement party called her and requested if he could bring his girlfriend as well. She had no problem with it. What she did not know and was not told was the fact that the girlfriend is vegan…and there was no vegan option at the party. You can guess where this is going. On the main day, drama erupts as the girlfriend demands vegan food, all resulting in OP and her brother’s girlfriend going off at each other.

OP was NTA. She was uninformed, and I can bet had she known in advance about the girlfriend…or had the brother made the request with ample time to event in hand, she would’ve made arrangements to facilitate the girlfriend. But it fully seemed like the girlfriend came to the event to make a fuss, as if it was all preplanned. What an AH!
