OP is a plumber with 10 years of experience, the last thing OP wants to see is someone giving out bad advice on plumbing parts and applications. So, when OP found an employee at Home Depot recommending the wrong parts and offering potentially dangerous advice, OP’s inner Karen started to emerge.
OP was doing a side job for a friend and needed a part, so he headed to Home Depot. While in the parts section, OP overheard an employee giving bad advice to an older couple who clearly didn’t know much about plumbing. He recommended the wrong parts and even included things you’ve never seen under a sink in your life.
Thankfully, OP spoke up and spent 10 minutes finding the couple the proper parts, so they wouldn’t have to come back a second time. But, OP’s concern grew when He heard the same employee offering more bad advice to another customer, this time recommending the use of black steel pipe for a drinking water application.
As someone who knows the dangers of using an unprotected steel pipe in a drinking water application, you grabbed the store’s number before paying for your parts and left. You were considering calling the store to speak to the manager about the employee’s poor advice.
