The bond between a human and an animal is beautiful.
I am ofcourse not talking about every animal that exists since we all know some wilder animals are just not open to forming such a bond with humans. Haven’t we all heard stories of people trying to tame wild animals but always ending up injured and worse? So today, we are only going to focus on animals that are generally kept as pets like cats and dogs. The reason why so many people keep pets isn’t just because these animals look adorable even though that is a big factor as well.
Usually, the reasoning behind people wanting a pet is because of loneliness. After all, there was a sudden increase in adoption when covid hit as animals were the only solution when people had to quarantine alone. The bond between a human and an animal can be beneficial for both parties whether we put it in the matter of psychological or physical health. It has been proven again and again that having a pet generally increases the time you live and not only that but pets can also help with depression.

The bond between a human and an animal may seem like a new thing but surprisingly this has existed for over a thousand years. This is also the reason that when it comes to veterinary medicine, the doctors usually treat the human and their pet as a team rather than separate entities. Many people even prefer spending time with their pets rather than with humans and this has become more and more true in recent years.
