Cats are more affectionate than we give them credit for.
I am well aware that it has become a sort of stereotype or meme that cats are a**holes and that they don’t care about their humans but that couldn’t be further from the truth. I think where this misconception comes from is the fact that people like to compare cats with dogs. While I adore dogs, both of these species are completely different in how they show their affection. Cats can be just as loyal and caring if we give them the same amount of love. However, their way of showing their love is quite different from dogs.
I am a cat owner myself and I cannot count the times my cat has come to my rescue when I was going through hard times. And this is true for most cat owners. So it is no surprise to see this adorable story either. This particular story is also quite heartwarming and this is exactly the reason why I love cats.
Cats are just picky and don’t show their caring side to everyone.
When I got a cat, I also got him because while I loved cats I was busy and didn’t have enough time to take care of any other animal. So I got my angel because I thought he would be low maintenance and that he will do his own thing. However, I couldn’t have been more wrong. While it is true that he doesn’t annoy me, he has become a lap cat and will come to me whenever I am feeling stressed and just cuddle with me. Basically, we need to appreciate cats much more than we do.
This story however is quite bittersweet.
