When a woman gets pregnant, for nine whole months she eats more than normal because now she is responsible for feeding two tummies instead of one. That is one of the main reasons why after the baby is delivered, the mother doesn’t go back to her slim-trim shape. They put on some weight, mostly constituting fat as mood swings most often result in eating unhealthy food. It doesn’t mean you can openly start shaming that woman because honestly, that weight-gain can’t be blamed on her. Had she focused on maintaining her shape, she would’ve, perhaps, given birth to an unhealthy baby. So, there is always a give and take.
In today’s story, however, a woman who became a mother and as a result put on some weight became a victim of body shaming by none other than her husband. Yes, you read that right. Reddit user u/SallysSalon111 shared that ever since she gave birth, for months upon months her husband would body shame her. OP would keep absorbing all the taunts regarding how slim she used to be before but not anymore. That was until OP finally reached her saturation point and that too during a family Christmas dinner. Becoming a victim of body shaming once again by her husband, OP stood up from her seat as everyone was having dinner and loudly cursed at her husband telling him to shut up. Everyone was left speechless including the husband.

1. Looks like it had been building in for a very long time.
2. Ever since OP became a mother, her husband has been indirectly calling her fat.
3. He has been showing a dislike towards the weight his wife put on ever since giving birth.
4. It had been going on for months and months and it seems like OP has been reaching her saturation point.
5. Even at the family Christmas dinner, while OP’s SIL complemented her dress, the husband quickly point it out that it looked better before when she was slim.
6. That is when OP reached her saturation point and told her husband to shut up while swearing at him in front of everyone as they were all having dinner.
We all have a saturation point and I think OP reached hers during that Christmas dinner. Also, it is not nice to body shame anyone let alone your wife. The poor woman had been holding it in for a very long time. It isn’t her fault pregnancy gave her a bulky body. She gave her husband a child, where’s the due gratitude?
OP did the right thing by calling her husband out on the spot. He was basically trying to turn her into a laughing stock by body-shaming her. This is unacceptable.

7. When OP called her husband out for being a body shamer, he was left speechless. No one at the dinner knew how to react.
8. Later he sent OP a text message saying he was angry and unhappy that she embarrassed him in front of everyone.
9. The message made OP reconsider if what she did was right or not. And in the process, she took assistance from the AITA community.
