In this situation, the OP and her husband are confronted with a challenging family dynamic involving their 10-year-old daughter, Susie, and the OP’s mother-in-law (MIL). Despite Susie’s well-known aversion to mushrooms, the MIL, who plays a significant role in caring for Susie after school, has been consistently serving meals containing mushrooms. This has resulted in Susie feeling hungry and upset, prompting her parents to address the issue.

The confrontation with the MIL revealed a stark difference in parenting philosophies. The MIL defended her approach, arguing that Susie needed to “grow up” and overcome her dislike for mushrooms, using the tactic of tough love by limiting other food options. The OP, concerned about her daughter going to bed hungry, took a stand against this approach, leading to a heated exchange. The husband sided with the OP, recognizing the unreasonable stance taken by his mother.

So keep on scrolling down below to read the whole story narrated by OP and make sure to read it till the end. Otherwise, you won’t be able to tell us whether OP is an A-hole or not.
