Wife Leaves Christmas Dinner By In-Laws Because She Didn’t Want To Eat What Was On The Menu

Christmas is a time of joy, celebration, and family. But for one Reddit user, u/Rema5000, it was a time of conflict, frustration, and controversy. In a post on the subreddit “AmItheA$$hole?“, OP shared their story of leaving their fiance’s family Christmas dinner after finding out that they did not make any food that suited her preferences. OP shared she is a picky eater due to psychological factors, childhood, and personal likes and dislikes. She also shared she had asked her future mother-in-law to make one of the dishes she suggested, but she refused and told her to bring her own food to the dinner if the pre-made arrangements didn’t suit her well. OP didn’t do that and instead walked out of the dinner when she saw that no accommodations were made for her.

OP received backlash from her fiance and in-laws which made her knock on the doors of the AITA community.

I don’t see any problem in this. Christmas dinners are very traditional. Nobody wants to go out of the way to cook something special for a single person because they don’t like what is on the money. Cooking the traditional Christmas dinner is already too hectic and time taking. By suggesting her DIL to bring her own food, I don’t think MIL did anything wrong.
