Woman Gets Called Out For Drinking By A Rude Neighbor

People enjoy poking their noses into other people’s affairs.

I’m sure we’ve all been in situations where strangers approach us and lecture us on something we’re doing. This has happened to me once or twice, and it always irritates me greatly. After all, nobody has the right to stop you as long as you aren’t doing anything illegal or immoral. Some people, however, don’t get the memo and act all high and mighty while lecturing you on how you’re wrong. That’s sort of what happened in this story, and the lecturer was a neighbour, not a total stranger.

This woman saw her neighbour approaching with a pack of bears and thought it would be a good idea to tell her what a bad idea that was. Everyone understands that drinking is not a healthy habit. However, as long as it is done in moderation, it is perfectly acceptable. It’s not like OP is underage or anything of the sort, so this neighbour had no reason to pry into her affairs. Why can’t people just go about their business? It’s not that difficult.

It is not a dramatic story but it is quite a dilemma.

But the sorry didn’t end there as she did explain a bit more.

And she also explained why she thinks she is the one in the wrong.

The OP claims that she responded rudely, but this is a common reaction for many people when someone pries into their lives. And it’s not as if she didn’t deserve it. However, the woman could have simply been concerned that her neighbour was about to go on a binge and attempted to prevent her from doing so. I honestly have no idea what her intentions were. They could have been innocent, but she went about it incorrectly.

People in the comments didn’t think she was rude at all.

After all, it was the neighbour who started it all.

If the neighbour had stayed in her lane, it would have been fine.

But she just had to be intrusive and ended up in this situation.

I will have to use this in the future as well.

Sometimes it is necessary to respond in kind.
