Woman Quits After Her Manager Keeps Reminding Her About ‘At Will Employment’

Power can get to some people’s heads.

We all know the old saying that if you want to see someone’s real character, just give them some power over you and watch as they take full advantage of it. I am not saying that everyone is like this but so many manager horror stories do make this stance pretty easy to believe. It isn’t that these people were good and got corrupted with power. The truth is that they were always like this and a tiny taste of power just showed their real colors.

And while higher-ups usually get what they want without any repercussions, sometimes they do get dealt a sweet dish of revenge and it is always glorious. Now, this isn’t the sort of revenge where the manager was put in a bad decision but the poster of this story did get to make a dramatic exit when she quit. And who hasn’t thought of quitting their job? I know I have and I ended up acting on that fantasy a while ago as well.

She was going through some hard times which meant that she had to take another job to make ends meet.

She did make quite a few mistakes when she started out but who hasn’t when they are new?

But when she heard the good news that her husband had found a job, she quit right on the spot.

I can just imagine her curtsying and slamming the door in her manager’s face. I wish I had done this when I quit because my bosses definitely deserved worse. These kinds of stories only reiterate one thing and that is that most if not all higher-ups don’t really care about their employees and will only look out for themselves. So at the end of the day, you have to do the same and look out for yourself. All that company loyalty never gets you anywhere.

People in the comments are unsurprisingly loving this story.

It is always so satisfying to quit a job without giving them notice and seeing their faces.

I am glad that so many people know their worth and quit when it gets rough.

I can only hope that this person also finds a better job soon.

This Redditor however had a unique perspective on the story that I fully agree with.
