Woman Doesn’t Want To Take Care Of Her Roommates Dog, Argument Ensues

Taking care of a dog isn’t easy.

And it definitely isn’t for everyone. No matter, how much you may want a dog, you have to keep in mind the fact that they require a lot of effort to thrive. However, a lot of people don’t really understand the responsibility that comes with them. I am sure we have all seen moments where kids will nag their parents to get them a dog. But when parents finally do cave into their wishes, the kids get tired of taking care of the doggos and the parents end up having to take care of them.

This is true for almost any pet so you should always do research and understand what it takes to care for a pet. And you also have to realize that just because you live with someone or have a roommate, that doesn’t mean that they will pitch in their help. They might not like dogs or simply don’t want to spend their time doing that. it really isn’t being selfish as it is not their responsibility. But that is exactly what this woman is angry about.

It all started out when she decided to get a roommate.

The roommate came with a dog but she assured OP that she will take care of the doggo herself.

However, that promise went out the window the moment she started working extra hours.

Things went downhill after that as she kept hounding OP about the dog and this has caused a lot of tension.

I adore dogs but I would never one myself either because I have always been more of a cat person. So if I had a roommate with a dog, I wouldn’t take care of the doggo either. I mean, I might do it once or twice but it isn’t my responsibility. I think she is fully justified to find a new roommate because she had made it clear that she wasn’t going to look after the dog the moment they met. The roommate needs to find a helper for when she goes to work.

People in the comments were on OP’s side as well.

They called out the roommate for her behavior.

At the end of the day, it isn’t her responsibility.

She should find a helper if it is such a hassle for her.

Or she should rehome the dog if it isn’t working out for her.

But if she continues to nag OP, it might be better to find a new roommate.

After all, she did make a promise.

She is just insulting OP and this isn’t the way.

This comment captures everything perfectly.

She is trying to blame OP because she feels guilty.

She decided to get a dog so she should have realized this would happen.

OP was very clear right from the start.

She really should have seen this coming.

She is the one who needs to compromise, not the other way around.

There are a lot of entitled people in this world.

Her entitlement is through the roof by the sounds of it.

She is acting like OP owes her something.

It looks like she just heard someone mention the word gossip and is ready for her friends to spill all the tea. That pose is everything!

What do you think about this incident? Do you think she is making a big deal about this and it really isn’t that much of an issue to take care of the dog once in a while? Or do you think she is justified? What would you do in this situation?
