Men are parents too.

I know this seems like such an obvious thing to state but it seems like people forget that there are fathers who need to take care of their children. We always hear about mothers and their struggles but what about fathers who stay at home or work and take care of their children? It is as if nobody mentions how much hard work fathers do as well. Not only that but we always see changing stations in the woman’s bathroom but what about the men’s?
Do people think that men don’t change their kid’s diapers? It is the 20th century and we don’t live in a time where women are the only ones who do all this stuff. What if it is a single father or a guy who is out with his kid alone? Does he not deserve to have a changing station? I mean it might just be better to put a changing station as a universal area out of the bathroom rather than rendering it. This guy wanted to do just that but he couldn’t find a changing station anywhere except in the lady’s bathroom.

What do babies do? They poop in their diaper.
He wanted to change the diaper but he couldn’t find a changing station area.
Even the sink didn’t have a counter in the men’s bathroom.
So he tried to find an employee that could help him.
He found one and asked her where the changing stations were.
But she basically took him to right where he was before.
She then urged him to look again as if the changing station would appear right in front of his eyes.
Unsurprisingly, there was no area to change diapers in the men’s bathroom.
On top of that, the employee wasn’t even there anymore.
So he gave up and just went to the woman’s bathroom.
As you can expect, it had a changing station.

There was even a woman there who pointed out that he was in the wrong bathroom.
He explained his predicament and she didn’t really care much after that.
He changed his kid as fast as he could.
But then a woman walked in and started screaming.
She didn’t even let him explain and simply ran out.
He went outside as well right after changing the diapers.
When he realized that she was complaining about him he basically ran out.
The employee tried to get him to stop but he left.
Now his family on the other hand has different opinions on this.
And that is why he asked Reddit for advice.
What was this guy supposed to do? Basically not change his son’s diaper till he got home? I mean that not only sounds disgusting but also seems that it would be quite uncomfortable for the child. He basically did what he had to do and the woman overreacted. She didn’t even give him enough time to explain. I will say that he should have stayed and explained it all to the employees but I understand why he got protective. If I ever saw a guy in a woman’s bathroom changing his kid’s diaper, I wouldn’t bat an eyelash but this woman apparently got scared for whatever reason.
Reddit was 100% on his side.
What else was he supposed to do?
He did what he had to do and there is nothing weird about it.
To be fair, I have used the men’s bathroom sometimes as well.
Is it really that scary to see a man in a bathroom?
It wasn’t as if he was doing anything weird in there.
The woman blew everything out of proportion.
This commenter does have a good point in my opinion.
Every place should have a changing station for everyone.
Whatever your gender may be, if you are a parent, you need a changing station.
It shouldn’t even be surprising.
Just put a changing station area and everything would be fine. Not everything needs to be gendered.
