Everyone’s boundaries should be respected. No matter who you are, you have to respect what the other person says and requests, especially when the request is very understandable and backed by logic. In today’s story, we have a Reddit user 719dib28k who does not like dogs, especially untrained ones. And I respect that, I cannot hate on a person for not liking dogs just because I like dogs.
OP shared that their boyfriend got a dog in inheritance and he requested her if he could bring it with him every time he would come over. OP agreed on only one condition that he will not force the dog on her no matter what. The boyfriend told her not to worry about it but that is exactly what he kept doing. In many instances, he would intentionally ask his dog to go jump on OP. Until one day, OP snapped and told him the dog would never be allowed in the house if this happened again.
Being called an AH by her boyfriend for not being friendly, OP took the matter to the community members of AITA to know if she did the right thing or not by telling her boyfriend to stop bringing his dog to her home.

3. The boyfriend requested OP if she could bring the dog with him every time he would come over. She agreed but on one condition that he won’t force the dog in her face and that is exactly what happened. The dog annoyed the living hell out of OP.

6. It’s weird that people are defending the dog and OP has to answer too many questions like this one to justify her side.

OP was NTA. It was very noticeable that the boyfriend was doing it all intentionally. He would purposefully tell the dog to go jump on OP when she clearly told him she doesn’t want any of that. Clearly, he has no respect for her boundaries.
OP should really reconsider this relationship as I don’t think the dog is the real problem, it’s her boyfriend. He does not want to listen to OP and he would be totally responsible if OP chooses to either ban the dog or break up with him.
10. The boyfriend really was exhibiting immature behavior.

11. It’s about the boyfriend and OP shouldn’t continue a relationship with someone who doesn’t respect her.

“We adopted Kane about a month ago. We don’t know much about his background or his age, but he is around 10-12. He is nearly deaf and blind. He is very sweet and just likes to sleep all day and likes going outside. He is a good boy.”
